I Have Moved!

Hi friends!

It’s been a LONG time but I am super excited to let you know I am now writing over at www.thehotandfit.com

PLEASE do head over there and join me as I write about all things hot, fit and celeb-related! The Running Addict has definitely taken me in that direction, and after helping my sister start her own blog (www.thehotandjuicy.com) she suggested I somehow put up my fitness addiction out there, too. Since I didn’t want to write just about celebs, I decided to create my own site which will combine them both!

Thank you all SO much for reading my blog and being so supportive!

BREAKING NEWS!

Oh it looks like my people New Moon producers+directors or whoever it is in charge over in Italy is doing it right!

I am getting the feeling that this movie may be not so disappointing after all (well, compared to the book!)

And some more goodness:

And I am OFF now, because it is GAME NIGHT here in Europe!!!

This is, by far, THE MOST IMPORTANT DAY OF THE YEAR HERE IN EUROPE!!!

The love of my life (aka Real Madrid) did not make it, but Manchester United, my second greatest love, did.

Also there can be found the biggest scumbags known as Barcelona, which haunt my dreams at night. Okay, I am going over the top. I cannot stand them though. As I am typing these very lines they scored a goal which is a tragedy which will hopefully be fixed in a couple of seconds minutes.

Okay, I am not happy guys. I actually went to store this afternoon specifically to get more strawberries. Which, once I have them in front of me, I cannot stop eating!!! I really need to get in control. I hate hate hate when this happens. It really freaks me out.

Groceries, European Style

Hi friends!!

How has your Tuesday been going? Mine has been wonderful! Great run, 30C+ and too many strawberries!!

Morning Run The alarm went off at 5 AM this morning, and I was actually contemplating going back to sleep! GASP!

I changed it to 5:30 (the time I get up when I run around 7 KM) but as soon as I closed my eyes I told myself “Who are you kidding?”

Yea, I am not kidding anybody. Turned off the alarm and went to brush my teeth.

So I set out with the aim of covering 12 laps.

Now here is where it gets tricky: I crossed the 7th lap at 32 minutes.

I have never ran this fast and thus something is wrong  in my opinion because I was running fairly steadily and my HR was not that high (which in my book means I was not running too hard). So I could be miscounting my laps which I doubt because I am not senile. But then again it is 5 AM and my head is in planet “Oh gosh I have exams next week” .

Anyhow, here are my stats for the assumed 10.7 KM:

Time Average HR Highest HR
1 hour, 4 minutes 159 BPM 168 BPM

I think I really need a Garmin.

 Strength Training

Gina’s amazing challenge keeps kicking my bootie and today was no exception! I think that any upper body workout suits me best. You know I am not a fan of the abdominals….

Yummy Goodness

So since I went shopping this afternoon, I decided I may share with you what was in my trolley.

Note that:

  • I buy for the entire house (i.e. myself, my padres, my 8 year old I-can-eat-anything-and-not-gain-weight brother and my 16 year old I-just-don’t-really-care-too-much-about-food sister)
  • I visit a grocery store every.single.day. I mean it. This is because we always run out of items and because there are so many chains selling particular products that I have to make rounds. Tortillas can only be found at this store, whilst my frozen veggies are found at another

t 008

  • High fiber cereals (x2)
  • BBQ sauce (x2)
  • 2 low fat strawberry yogurts
  • Sweet and Sour Cooking Sauce (this is new, I will give it a shot)
  • 1 Chocolate Duo Spread (for the brother, and, well, the rest of the house sans moi)
  • Mustard
  • Ketchup (x2)

t 005

  • 1.5% fat milk – there is not “skim” milk here. There is 0.5%, but my mother hates it. In Israel, by the way, there is only 3% fat milk and 1% is rarely available
  • 5 DUO Mix desserts – for the brother

t 006

  • 5 packages broccoli florets, 350 grams each
  • 5 packages cauliflower florets, 450 grams each

As you know, these are the loves of my life. I eat a whole bag in one sitting.

t 003

  • 3 parsley cottage cheese, 150 grams each
  • Pickles in vinegar – I normally can’t stand these, but there are no pickles in brine here like in Israel
  • Another Chocolate Duo Mix
  • 3 tablet sweeteners (I am a splenda whore as you know)
  • Grounded sweeteners (see above excuse)
  • 1 President Radish Cheese Spread – which stars daily in my food recaps

Moran Rambles So I am wondering:

  1. Would you like me to post my shops? I know its European and most of my readers are from the US, but do let me know if you find it interesting!
  2. Are there any questions you would like me to answer in particular regarding my recent running/eating/Europe-in-general

Off to bed, I am hoping for another early rise tomorrow!

Heat Wave Alert

Wow friends, it is SERIOUSLY HOT HERE IN EUROPE!

I am such a hypocrite! I come from a very warm country and I always whine about how cold the Czech Republic is for me. Well, when the temperatures are finally warm enough for a tan, I am getting a head ache and complaining that there is no AC!

Well, I would rather sit in the festering heat for hours and end up with a headache then stand the cold! I was meant to be a Cali gal! HAHA!

Morning Run Even though it was hard to get out of bed in the AM, I still got my butt outside and headed for a run. I was determined to make this the fastest one yet, and I DID!

I mentally divided each “lap” into sections which I would run at 3/4 speed, and instead of running my usual 6.3 KM, I covered an extra lap i.e. 7.2 KM!

Time Average HR Highest HR
41 minutes 166 BPM 182 BPM

And my stats weren’t that sky-high! I am so happy!

Moran Rambles

Yep, new title! I have a few things to say/mention….bullet point would make it less painful long to read!

  • I drove “the tank” for the first time. I call my ma’s car the tank because it’s so massive (well, at least for me!). My dad should not find out because it has an automatic gear transmission and he does not want me to drive that kind for the first year of my license. He says its bad for my “instincts”, which, by the way, are very bad at the moment.

  • I read Jenna’s post on KERF (click here to read) and it was really interesting for me as a quasi European to read her opinions on food and dieting in France, from an American perspective naturally. I do not share many of her views; people here have no idea often what they put in their mouths. There is almost no awareness and though the proportion of girls who count calories is not as high as it is in the US, it is still no excuse for not writing nutritional data on goods. Furthermore, options tend to be very limited here. Granola? Musli? These are extremely calorie dense and a single 30 gram portion would consist of one half of your daily sugar allowance. I am sure there are many pros for croissants every once in a while, but I like to have a variety and be able to make my own choices based on my preferences and not on default. What I do agree with is the amount of walking – we (Czechs) walk everywhere!
  • HOLY BIKINI BODY CHALLENGE holy results, too!!! Guys, it is quite surprising for me, but I checked my hips and waist yesterday and I am down 5 cm from the time I started! I don’t want to post my actual numbers now but I am certainly seeing results!

Celeb Ramble

Of course it is R-Patz related! How can it not be? I am still not getting all the hype, but subconsciously I must be fantasizing over him because I find myself posting and reading about him too much. Ewww it makes me feel so gross….

But it looks like the New Moon producers are getting something right! I was still  a little uncertain and hesitant when I read how much R-Patz they are planning to put into New Moon (read the books, guys, always better than the movies!) and that will make me roll my eyes, regardless, but I just saw set pictures from Italy and the fountain is just like how I imagined it! I guess I have seen too many fountains in too many European cities, hence the “imagination”.

AND NOW – the best part that will make all of you us R-Patz fans droll over the key board (stolen from Celebrity Gossip)

And some K-Stew, because she is actually quality Hollywood

Ya’ll do realise they are like a 12 hour drive from me at the moment, right? hahaha!

Nighty night!
