Hi guys!
First off, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of you for asking and caring about how things were/are! My brother is doing much better and is in a very good mood which is so like him so I know there is nothing to be worried about!
It is a gorgeous warm day here! I was actually fairly “warm” on the way home from the gym. Yahoo! says there are about 11C out there! Take that for December.
…which brings me to my next point –
HAPPY
DECEMBER and YAY
FOR
THE
HOLIDAY
SEASON!
Honestly, I am really not a huge fan of the holiday season. I think it is because I kind of feel “left out” since I live in the Czech Republic where everybody celebrates Christmas and I am from Israel and we never celebrated Christmas! Well we have Hanukkah but that’s a week long and completely different in concept. When I first moved here I was about 10 years old and I loved learning about Christmas traditions, Santa Clause, I could stare at the decoration for hours…but then when Christmas day came, well, we weren’t doing anything so it was just weird for me. I always wish I’d be in Israel for the season, but I have work and such so it doesn’t work out. There are some great things about this season though! First, most of my high school friends from the US/UK/South-East Asia etc. come to visit, and I get to have the most fabulous time with my kids at work because they are so thrilled its Christmas time! So I will be decorating a tree in some way. I am also brining a menorah for them.
I learned today that my gym will be CLOSED for the period of December 24th till January 1st. WHAT THE HECK?????? I was actually quite pissed off! That is an entire WEEK people! I mean Christmas is 12/23-24 and New Years is 12/31-1/1 but that still leaves a few days in between! And you know my lazy butt; I cannot go outside in the cold to run!! Its quite ridiculous, one may think Czechs are so religious that they are shutting down. As a matter of fact, Czech Republic is 7th on the “Top-10-Least-Religious-Countries-In-The-World”! Well, only my gym is taking “vacation” – everything else should be open. But that does mean I need to figure out what.the.heck.I.will.do!
The gym
Cardio
My plan to run 15 minutes @ 11 km/hour did not happen because of my sky-high heart rate! Jeez it got to 200 BPM! I really had to stop after 10 minutes and just walk. I was quite sore too and it all results from bad eating and no exercise for three days!

I then hopped onto the sweatmaster for 8 minutes and another 5 minutes on the elliptical. These guys get my heart rate all the way up to the 180s! But my feet just get so burned and I have to hop off!

No I am off to do some reading, working on my essay on Leadership, summarizing three chapters for my Principles of Management class and maybe digging into this:
It arrived today! Who is Giada? I have never seen/heard of her!

No way, she has 3 shows on food network. She is also from a famous film family. Her grandfather is Dino Delaurentiis. I used to find her annoying, but now I love her and her passion.

Hi…I’m glad to hear your brother is feeling better, and sorry you had to go through that. In response to the Splenda comment on my blog, did you eat it with any sweetener (maple syrup, agave, brown sugar, dried fruit) at all? If not, it definitely would taste shockingly sour compared to splenda which is much, much sweeter than plain sugar! Let me know:)

Wow, 200 bpm? You’re hardcore!
I’d be a little annoyed with the gym being closed for a week too… maybe crack out some workout dvds or something? Anything to get a little movement in during the most crucial time of the year! Geez, they close it up right when all of that good holiday food is in huge abundance!

HAHA I now feel embarrassed I didn’t know who she was! Well I have only heard of the food network before but never watched it! I also told my ma about her now so I think she’ll be reading the article too!!

Wow, your gym is closed for a really long time. I would be mad too! Is running outside an option?
Glad your brother is doing better.
