Happy Friday! It’s Labour Day here (I am rolling my eyes) like I mentioned before so I am off work. I would rather be at work then ‘celebrate’ a holiday that is so clearly associated with communism.
I woke up this morning with a slight lump in my throat. i.e. something is not right. Also, my nose was a little runny and all. I was scheduled for a long run today and thought I would just head out and run as much as I can. I am at a stage where I have realised my body will not go a day without running and besides, going back to sleep is no longer an option. I was already up at my usual 5 AM, forced myself to go back to bed and woke up at 6:45 again.
I do hope whatever it is that I have is just a 24 hours thing. I am hydrating like crazy and taking it fairly easy. There is no swine flu here yet, so I can cross that off my list. There is, however, plenty of pollen and I am slowly losing my voice…
So I ran 9 KM today at a very.slow.pace.
I barely noticed what Polar was indicating (of course, he had to be an ass every once in a while) and I kind of just let myself enjoy what I was doing. Well, I always enjoy running, but this was very peaceful. Here are my assumed stats:

Running Time |
Average HR |
Highest HR |
| 57 minutes | 160 BPM | 172 BPM |
I am also looking into buying a new pair of running shoes. I headed over to www.runningwarehouse.com – they have a great Learning Center that really explains how you should test your feet in order to figure out what is the best shoe for you. Just so you know, previously I would just go into a store, try on 1 or 2 pairs, and buy the one that fits the best. Well, I am running more and taking my previous injuries as a major WARNING sign, so I want to get a new pair. My current New Balance are doing an amazing job (thank God!!) but I am afraid they have exceeded their mileage. At the same time, I am scared of getting a new pair because that might be EXACTLY the cause of a potential injury. I am probably headed to Germany next week and will try Karstadt and Runners’ Point. Language issue is definitely a problem…
Here is some working out inspiration for us all!
Justin and Jessica jogging around NYC!
I think Jessica has one of the best bodies in Hollywood. And Justin totally brings sexy back (hahaha I am so not funny….feel free to roll your eyes!)
So the parents are out tonight and that means that besides babysitting, I also have kitchen – freedom. Simply said, my ma does not allow me to touch anything but the microwave in the kitchen. Frozen meals are preferred (not cutting involved). So I used the opportunity to try again with Gliding Calm’s Mexi Meal!
My previous attempt did not go too well….this time, however….
I used:
- I packet shredded carrots (frozen)
- 2 large zucchinis
- 1 can sliced mushrooms
- 1 can baked beans in tomato sauce
- Spices: sweet chili, sweet paprika, salt
- 1 tsp minced garlic
The result was MAJOR Yummy Goodness, especially topped with whipped cottage cheese!
For dessert, I made some cheap European version of Jello. This is latte macchiato flavour:
Honestly? I just heart the cup!
Phew! I ate a lot today, or so it seems. This dinner, though low in calories, yields a massive amount, even for two people! My sister and I are STUFFED!
I am headed to bed to try and beat this annoying flu/cold/allergic reaction. I have no idea what I want to do tomorrow but I will just wait and see what my body says!
Have an awesome weekend!
